Ways to Increase Calm during Infertility
Daily Mindfulness Practice:
Each morning spend 5 minutes in quiet space, in a comfortable position, taking slow/deep breaths, check in and notice without judgement:
How do I feel emotionally in this moment?
How do I feel physically in this moment?
How do I feel mentally in this moment?
This practice not only creates awareness and a connection between body and mind but allows us a small moment to slow down and check in with ourselves to see what we need and how we are coping.
With each practice we increase our present moment awareness of what we need, what we feel and possibly how we can create more space for love, peace and connection within ourselves and our relationships
Self-Care:
At least once per day make an effort to do something loving and thoughtful for yourself.
Take an epsom salt bath
Spend time with a friend or loved one
Get creative: paint, draw, cook, bake, craft…stop the rumination/shame thought spiral even if just for a short while
Get moving: hike, walk, yoga, stretching, swim, something to release endorphins and create more calm within your soma
Get a massage or pedicure
Dance: alone or with others, let your body let go and move
Join your community:
Find a support group of women who understand your journey
Find a therapist who truly sees you
